For over 10 years, we have delivered more than 100,000 hours of social experiences for young people with disability, supported by over 2,000 high school students and young adult volunteers.

Through this work, we have developed a deep understanding of how to train and educate communities in the attitudes and skills needed to create truly inclusive spaces.

At the same time, we have built a strong community of young adults committed to disability inclusion through Flying Fox social programs. Many of these experienced volunteers have been trained to deliver educational content, and now work each week in schools, sharing their knowledge and driving change.

“We learned about different ways people communicate, like using Auslan or technology, and how important it is to think about inclusion. Flying Fox made me more aware of how everyone learns and expresses themselves differently. The lessons helped me see that accessibility is something we should all care about in our lives.”

“In class, we discussed the importance of celebrating differences, but camp gave me the chance to live this lesson. While there were tough moments, the joy of seeing participants laugh, smile, or try something new was unforgettable. The classroom gave me the knowledge, but camp gave me the real-life moments that made it meaningful.”
